Drea's Rosé 2019
Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaAndrea Kaiser grew up immersed in Canadian wine, with Karl Kaiser her father. She is the Director of Marketing, Reif Estate Winery, where she makes her own boutique line of wines. This cherry-hued rosé, her first, is entirely dornfelder, one of her father's favourite grapes. Red currants, raspberries, pomegranate, sour cherries rule the dry palate, woven with a foxy herbaceousness to a snappy, bitter-edged finish. This lacks some of the freshness I would have hoped for, though I appreciate its dry, serious focus. Looking forward to seeing more of Drea's wines.Tasted: 22 April 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:ON | $26.50 | 750ml | winery direct |
