Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBlack Market presents as a rich expression of syrah, yet just as you think that, its floral, fruity, woodsy Northern rhone style kicks in, including red fruit and plenty of freshness. 2018 is a 96/4 cofermentation of syrah/viognier that ran 18 days followed by 18 months in French and American oak barrels (30 percent new).On the palate, savoury notes pull this wine into the serious category, flexing black cherries, black olives, and spice, with a dusting of sweet oak. Drink or hold, there is no rush here.
