Tuscany, ItalyThis sangiovese / merlot blend comes from the historic Ricasoli estate, in the heart of Chianti Classico. Ferment and a short stint in stainless preserve the bright fruit, though they've moved from Stelvin closure back to a plastic cork, presumedly because it serves the distinctively squat bottle (á la Provence). Certainly, that is the cue for the style, pouring a very pale peach hue, with the dry, silken palate led by strawberry, plums, kissed with tangerine, pink florals, and a very fine rasp of spices.
