Rioja, SpainViña Ane is a family winery established in 2004 by Eduardo Monge and Lorena Garbati, both born into families of grape growers. They are located north of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, sheltered by the slopes of the Mount Toloño in the Sierra de Cantabria. This tempranillo comes from 5 different vineyards, all on clay limestone soils. Post-ferment this rested in French oak, with 5% each aging in Hungarian and American oak, for 11 months. Neo-modern Rioja, this is bright and fresh for all its 14.5%, with crunchy acidity lifting red currant, black raspberry, anise to the nutmeg scented, spicy, limestone humming finish.
