Santa Carolina VSC Red Assemblage 2019
Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileDeep dark and minty, the boldo takes me back to Chile quickly as the spice and coffee infill the nose. The assemblage is a mix of petit syrah, cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, and malbec grown at Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley. The attack is minty with spicy, intense black fruit flecked with espresso, olives, dried herbs, and licorice. A lot is going on here, so it might be best to cellar this for five to seven years before you begin to drink it. If you do open a bottle, lamb would be the preferred match at this time.Tasted: 26 March 2021Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | estimated retail in select private wine shops |
