Le Miccine Chianti Classico 2018

Tuscany, ItalyPaula is Canadian born, with Tuscan roots, and after childhood visiting Italy, she knew she wanted to make her life there. After studying agriculture in Canada, and viticulture studies and working across Europe, she ended up in Chianti and this hilly, organically farmed 7ha property. After picking and vinifying her sections separately, she then blends. This is a blend of 90% sangiovese, 5% malvasia nera (floral aromatics, low acidity, higher pH), and 5% colorino, on alberese, clay, and alluvial soils, from 350-400m. After a native ferment in stainless, this moved to older large French oak casks and tonneaux for 12-16 months. Gentle wood frames fragrant cherries, raspberries, on a finessed palate. Tannins are long and fine, housing this to a lingering spiced finish. Understated.Tasted: 08 March 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
