Campbell Kind Wines Australia Shiraz 2014
Clare Valley, South Australia, AustraliaCampbell Kind Wines is a new project from Lifford Wine & Spirits founder Steven Campbell, build on from his decades travelling the wine world and connections in this industry. These are carbon neutral wines selected and produced by his winemaker friends around the world, packaged with the Kind Wine packaging, and line priced across Canada at a very attractive price. The aim is overdeliver value for drinkable, well-crafted wines, all while making an environmentally responsible choice. In addition this project has resulting in the planting of more than 90,000 trees in Canada. The Mitchell family are Clare pioneers, and this is from sustainable, organic, dry farmed old vines, aged in French oak. Andrew Mitchell was one of the first to bottle under screwcap, and persuade others to do the same. Potent in fruit, yet moderate in frame at 13 degrees, this packs a lot into a little. Savoury and medicinal hewed, true to Claire, with dark cherry, brooding blackberry, leathery plum and scrubby dried herbs. Tannins are firm, tuggy, and well proportioned to the fruit. This finishes very dry and firmly, best met with grilled sausages or lamb burgers.Tasted: 18 March 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $21.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
