Zuccardi Q Malbec 2018

Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaGive this a good slosh in the glass to help you zone in on its wonderfully understated, vinous nose. Precise red and black ripe fruit, fragrant dried herbs, orange oil, and limestone dust emerge with each swirl. Juicy and vigorous with blackcurrant and raspberry, wintergreen, and tannins that are firm, fruit-draped, and finely textured. There is seamless integration of acid/fruit/tannins/stones, and an abundance of a quality that is increasingly rare in wine, vinosity. Sebastien Zuccardi's imprimatur is all over this Valle de Uco wine. It's elegant, refined, less-is-more, and bristling with mineral energy. Brilliantly farmed fruit from top terroirs Paraje Altamira and Los Chacayes within Uco are given a lengthy skin soak and cool fermentation, then slipped into neutral oak and concrete for 15 months of relaxation. Steak with chimichurri sauce, Tuscan Peposo, Lamb curry will all be worthy.Tasted: 26 February 2021Tasted by: Prices: BC 24.95 select private retailers QC 20.00 NF 22.00 Producer: Familia ZuccardiDistributors: The Bacchus Group Inc.
