Pascal Aufranc Vignes De 1939 Chénas 2017
Chénas, Beaujolais Villages, Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceFrom gnarly, tiny old bush vines planted in 1939 on granite, quartz, and sand, and a west facing 450m site bordering the Moulin à Vent appellation, this was whole cluster pressed before resting 8 months in concrete. Light and tight raspberry, tart rhubarb, plum blossoms, and a swing of sapid green skip across the lean palate, bright with red currant crunchy acidity, and bound with fine, downy tannins. This finishes with a granitic rasp, best matched with sauccison or mushroom ragout.Tasted: 06 February 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
