Lightning Rock Blanc de Noirs Canyonview Vineyard 2019
Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is one of two traditional method single vineyard Summerland blanc de noirs released in 2019. From 2003 planted pinot noir rooted in Canyonview Vineyard's sandy and granite-studded soils, this was whole bunch pressed and native fermented in large old puncheons until going to bottle in January 2020. After one year's rest, this was disgorged January 2021 with zero dosage and minimal sulphur throughout. Ample red fruit greets at first whiff, led by red cherry, crushed raspberries, crunchy red apple, all kissed with a puff of reduction.
