Devon Valley, Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South AfricaSituated on a warm site in Stellenbosch's Devon Valley, on red, heavy clays, this was whole bunch, lightly stomped, gently handled, into old puncheons for 10 months. This wine is a classic pretty / ugly, with brooding, dark ferrous earth, worn leather interwoven with ample fragrant wild violets, black raspberry, wild cherry, herbal scrub, and ample cracked peppercorns, all on a finessed palate.
