Stina Vugava 2018
Vis, Central and South Dalmatia (Srednja i Južna Dalmacija), Coastal Croatia, CroatiaStina Winery opened on the island of Broč, off the Dalmatian coast, in 2009, when Jako Vino rented a building from the Agricultural Cooperative of Bol. Wine had been made in the building, 'The first Dalmatian Wine Cooperative,' since 1901. This vugava comes from an ancient vineyard at 420-550m, on the island of Vis, where it was thought to have been initially brought by the ancient Greeks. This stately medium-bodied white is crisp and bright, with white grapefruit, ripe pear, white peach offsetting a honey-slicked, wild lemon, stony and amply saline base. Quite unique, and quite a fantastic fit for our coastal seafood-centric cuisine.Tasted: 31 January 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $39.00 | 750ml | BCLS |
