Foradori Morei Teroldego 2014

Trentino- Alto-Adige, ItalyFrom one of the most inspiring biodynamic producers in the world, Elisabetta Foradori, this teraldago is 1989 and 1996 planted vines, rooted in the pebbly, sandy, Noce river bank soils of Vigneto Morei, in Campo Rotaliano, Mezzolombardo. Morei means moro, or dark, in the Trentino dialect and the grapes echo this, hence the vineyard's name. This was native fermented in amphorae, on skins, for 8 months, before a stint in old wood, prior to bottling without fining or filtration. Showing its age beautifully, this has relaxed into dusky plum, subtle wild blueberries, and wild blackberries, a pierce of balsamic, and a fine rasp of pink pepper. Tannins have been enveloped into the medium bodied red, feeling cushier beyond its 12.5%, yet entirely fresh through the crushed violet finish. Very much alive; drinking ideally now.Tasted: 22 January 2021Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
