Bordeaux, FranceThe name Valentin pops up throughout Bordeaux, but Château Valentin is from Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux, on the right bank across from the Haut-Médoc. This is an unoaked, Merlot-dominant blend, with cabernet franc (30 percent) and petit verdot (10 percent) playing supporting roles. 2015 was a high quality vintage, especially on the right bank, but this shows surprisingly muddled fruit and fairly advanced development.
