Vinho Verde, Northern Portugal, PortugalArtur Meleiro is a 3rd generation vintner, owning his family's 4 hectares of vineyards. He was working as an industrial engenieer until 2013 when he realized his dream of taking over the family vines. From the priced subregion of Moncão and Melgaço, this alvarinho grows in terraces (valados) averting 150m. This Reserve Alvarinho has had some skin contact before aging on lees with bâtonnage in stainless for 5 months. Alvarinho is one of those grapes that shows age early, especially under cork, and you can see it here with a honeyed sheen overtop pear, white melon, meadow grass on a moderately plump palate.
