Moon Curser Malbec 2018

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is an intensely concentrated malbec with no shortage of ripeness thanks to its location on the Osoyoos East Bench. There's generous sun-soaked blackberry and blueberry, and what makes this really interesting is how it weaves in savoury aromatics with pepper and floral notes that are reminiscent of syrah. Sometimes malbec can be monolithic and one-dimensional, but that's certainly not the case here. The dense fruit easily carries the oak (20% new French), which is present but nicely integrated. Malbec has a lot of potential in the Okanagan, and this has to be near the head of the pack.Tasted: 17 December 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
