Treviso, Verona, Veneto, ItalyFreixenet, known instantly around the world for their Cava, has now hopped over to Italy, and invaded Prosecco, a move solely intended to win the coveted UK market. The eye-catching bottle will certainly lure some buyers worldwide, as will the Spanish house's reputable name. At 18 g/L RS, this is firmly in the sweeter (Extra Dry) category, though a bitter / harsh acerbic white floral, lemon blossom note counters the sugar, disjointing this pretty looking bottle. Sweet candy necklace rules the short palate, finishing with more bitter lemon notes. Stick to Cava, por favor.Tasted: 29 October 2020Tasted by: Prices:
Treviso, Verona, Veneto, ItalyIf you want a bottle on your table that leaves an impression, this is certainly it. At least the packaging does, thanks to its stunning bottle mould. The wine is also on point, if slightly less impressive. It combines crisp green apple fruit with orange blossom, and there's sufficient freshness to balance the 18 g/L dosage and keep this lively. An aperitif-style Prosecco that will turn heads over the holidays (even on Zoom).Tasted: 03 November 2020Tasted by: Prices:
