Elio Grasso Educato Langhe Chardonnay 2017
Langhe, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyEducato is a new chardonnay for us, but it is a good one. The vineyard was planted back in 1985, with the first official release in 1990. The densely planted site faces southeast at 380-400 metres on a moderately loose-packed, slightly sandy, limestone base. The fruit is picked early in September to beat the final ripening cycle, and the fermentation is a mix of stainless steel and wood. The result is a super fresh, mineral, green apple style with a twist of lees.
