Château Pesquié Quintessence Blanc 2019

Sud de France, FranceQuintessence Blanc is the flagship Pesquié white produced in tiny amounts (4000 - 5000 bottles) and predominately styled around the roussanne grape. The mix is 80/20 roussanne/clairette, picked and processed separately. Both grapes are fermented in barriques, 600-litre barrels, and cement eggs over eight months. There is no malolactic fermentation to retain freshness further. Both varieties are then aged in concrete for another six months. The nose opens with complex, lively florals spiked with pineapple, curry, and nutmeg. The attack is silky and medium-weight, full of ripe stone fruits and lively salinity courtesy of the ever-vivacious clairette. It is best with rich dishes like truffle risotto, mushroom dishes, and big cheeses.Tasted: 30 November 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
