13th Street Winery Premier Cuvée 2014

Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaThis blend of pinot noir and chardonnay came from estate Creek Shores fruit, as well as from growers in Creek Shores and Niagara-on-the-Lake, spent 48 months on lees, and was disgorged with zero dosage. Powerful and stately, with deep dough, lemon curd, white peach, lemon pith and a slight oxidative hint, reflecting its lengthy stint on lees. Bright cherry, strawberry brioche, and red currant shows pinot's charm (and dominance at 60%), while chardonnay's steely backbone holds this taut. Certainly a fuller-bodied wine of impact, ready to handle bigger food pairings.Tasted: 24 November 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
