Tightrope Winery Syrah 2018
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis bright, tart, full-bodied syrah comes from the Naramata Bench, and was cofermented with 3% Viognier in a series of small lot ferments in stainless. This aged for 10 months in French oak, with a little American oak in the mix. Full and fleshy, with heaps of cracked pepper, sweet salami, seasoning the chewy and dense blackberry, perfumed violet fruit. Tannins are supple, helping draw this weighty wine to the tart, warming finish. Very much in youth, partner this now with spiced beef kabobs or grilled lamb now, or wait a couple of years to let this settle into itself.
