Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPencil shavings, cedar staves, hard-press cassis leads this blocky red blend, a 50/50 blend of merlot and cabernet sauvignon aged in French and American oak (40% new). There's a juicy core of black fruit, but the tannins stick out around the edges, coming in for a warming close.
