Painted Rock Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAn overall cooler vintage that finished late and included a long period of smoke-filled skies has given BC an excellent harvest of ripe fruit, free of sugar bomb bunches. The picking began in October and finished up in early November. The blend is 77/23 syrah/cabernet sauvignon, where each variety is fermented separately before ageing in 30 percent new French oak barriques. It is a classic Australian mix made in a Bordelais style on Skaha terroir: full-flavoured and boisterous upfront, with a whack of blue fruit and meaty flavours flecked with black pepper and vanilla. Long, silky, warm, and showy, this will have a wide appeal to those who prefer a hedonistic style of red wine. Steak anyone?Tasted: 03 October 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
