Kaiken Selección Especial Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Mendoza, ArgentinaThis wine packs a lot of bang for your buck. The fruit is ripe and expressive, ranging from cassis to blackberry to blueberry, with a notch more definition than you typically get at this price point. You also get oak. It’s not overbearing, but has a nice spicy quality that plays well with the fruit. There’s a touch of residual sugar to the palate, but it’s also not a sweet, easy red. There’s some structure here, showing the firm, linear character of cabernet, while still being approachable and not austere. This is the type of wine it’s always nice to have a bottle (or two) of on hand. Recommended; great value.Tasted: 19 October 2020Tasted by: Prices:
