Château la Grolet Cuvée Classique Rouge Côtes de Bourg 2018

Cotes de Bourg, Cotes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux, FranceChâteau La Grolet is a 17th-century manor house at the bottom of a valley surrounded by its 50-hectare estate, including 38 hectares of vines. The Hubert family acquired the estate in 1997 and began its conversion to biodynamics, with Demeter certification coming in 2000. This blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc comes from vines averaging 50 years in age and off steep gravel/clay slopes. This was native fermented in concrete before a rest in older wood. Ripe cherry plum is woven with leather, espresso, and earth and cut with a red current acidity that keeps this bright. Tannins are moderately grippy and coated with dusty gravels, welcoming partnering with lamb or pork.Tasted: 06 October 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
