Albino Rocca Rosso di Rocca Langhe Nebbiolo 2019

Langhe, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyThe death of Angelo Rocca in 2012 reshaped the winemaking team at Albino Rocca, with Angelo's son-in-law Carlo Castellengo, and Angelo's daughters Paola, Monica, and Daniela taking over. The Rosso di Rocca is a blend of nebbiolo and a dash of cabernet franc. The source stems from a 2016 acquisition of a vineyard south in Magliano Alfieri, on the left side of the river Tanaro, plus a few parcels in East Barbaresco. The style is very much Albino Rocca, offering up a fragrant softish red, plenty of flavour and concentration, and an uncanny drinkability factor, especially when paired with traditional but simple Italian regional dishes. The wine sees no wood and is finished at 13.5 percent alcohol. The sample I tasted was under cork; it is also bottled under screwcap.Tasted: 24 October 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
