Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Therapy Reserve Merlot is out. This comes off the Black Sage Terrace Vineyard in Oliver, where the fruit is cropped low. It was fermented in a single vessel and has undergone extended skin contact for 28 days post-fermentation. It was aged in French oak barrels for 25 months and was bottled unfiltered. The nose is a cedary, black fruit affair with a savoury, meaty, tobacco leaf undercurrent. The palate is a mix of black cherry and cedar with more meaty notes that take over the finish. A rustic version of merlot that is ready to drink.
