Stefano Farina Barbaresco 2011
Alba, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyGiancarlo, Bruno and Gino Farina, sons of the founder Stefano, manage this family winery, farming their 16 acres of vineyards. From Cuneo's Diano d'Alba, this nebbiolo is rooted on exposed hillsides of calcareous clays, growing at 550m. Pouring a golden, glowing brick orange hue, this 9 year old wine is still amazingly alive, up front with an intoxicating mix of dried black tea leaves, dried roses, blood, bergamot, worn leather, fine spices, housed with long, fine, structural tannins to a mineral and dark cocoa kissed finish. This showcases nebbiolo's graceful ageworthiness beautifully.Tasted: 11 September 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $53.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
