Sicily, ItalyAraldica is a third-generation, family-operated co-operative based in Piedmont, though they also work on projects outside of their home region, like this catarratto, from Sicily. These organic grapes come from the northwest corner of the island, at Calatafimi, in chalky soils around 500m. This was vinified and rested in stainless to preserve the fruit. Exotic melon, mandarin, white peach, Asian pear fills a short, snappy, crisp palate, with an inherent brightness from the soils, and altitude.
