Culmina Family Estate N˚ 011 Stan's Bench Chardonnay 2018
Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCulmina released two single bench (that's right) chardonnays from 2018, both from their elevated Golden Mile Bench estate. Though Stan's Bench is slightly warmer than it's sibling, Margaret's Bench, this has far more verve and energy. This was basket pressed into older wood for a native ferment and MLF, where it remained for 8 months. There's a smoked stone edge that defines this wine, especially compared to Margaret. That alluring smoked stoniness threads throughout lemon cream, hazelnut, flake salts, and ample lees, on a full palate.
