Culmina Family Estate N˚ 010 Margaret's Bench Chardonnay 2018

Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaCulmina released two single bench (that's right) chardonnays from 2018, both from their elevated Golden Mile Bench estate. This is from the slightly higher and cooler Margaret's Bench, and clones 76 and 101-14. Full and creamy, this was basket pressed into older wood for a native ferment and MLF where it remained for 8 months. Thought the barrels are said to be neutral, the wood here is super present, with ample clove, toast and baking spice. Lemon curd, red apple, ripe peaches and thick cream fill the generous palate, girdled with a firm coil of lemon peel. The full bodied wine trails off with gentle vanilla and fine spices. A lot of a lot, and too much for now.Tasted: 07 September 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: BC 38.00 winery direct Producer: Culmina Family Estate WineryDistributors: Winery Direct
