Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA well-constructed franc that opens with cedar boughs, sagebrush, and red cherry that spills onto the palate with cracked pepper and licorice, enveloped in dense, round, smoky tannins. The acidity is perfect, adding vibrancy to a long finish. It is much more Euro in character and an oddity for the south Okanagan, where franc can be bold and rich. A wonderful elegant style that is only beginning its life and will cellar easily through 2026.Tasted: 01 September 2020Tasted by: Prices:

Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom their Arise Bench, on the Golden Mile Bench, this intense red was fermented and aged in French oak (22% new) for 16 months. Savoury throughout, with graphite, cedar stave, and toasted oak seasoning the brooding black cherry, bitter cassis, and ample lashings of cracked clove and nutmeg. Tannins are large and pretty polished, but still a bit ragged in youth, benefitting from decanting and a pouring alongside lamb or venison.Tasted: 27 September 2020Tasted by: Prices:
