Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe notion of unoaked chardonnay is all about purity, freshness and exciting aromatics. In this northern 50° N wine, you get a clean, dry, fresh style, and it comes with pineapple, sweet melon, and peachy/pear undertones. It’s an orchard of flavours and fun to drink. Like most unoaked wines, it lacks a midpalate and some of the creamy textures I find so attractive, but there is a place for a wine this well made, and there will be a market for it too.
