Peak Cellars Riesling Block Eleven 2019

Lake Country, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBlock Eleven is Clone 21B riesling, originating from Germany’s Mosel Valley. The fermentation stopped when 84 percent of the sugar had been transformed into alcohol, leaving 32.3 grams of residual sugar to instil a natural sweetness and flavour intensity to the wine. Don’t fear, it's not that sweet because the natural acidity is extremely bright, giving it a sense of balance, shuttling back and forth between racy acidity and sweet fruit. In the Mosel, the fruit and the wine tend to be crunchy, which is very similar to what we have here in the northern Okanagan Valley at Carrs Landing. The tropical pineapple, mango, guava are offset by the green apple, savoury, sour candy, and lemongrass. Very food-friendly, especially with Asian dishes with a bit of heat, or try it with a ham and pineapple pizza.Tasted: 30 August 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
