MacIntyre Heritage Reserve Ardua 2015

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOwner Drew McIntrye is a big fan of Pomerol and Bolgheri merlots, and his Ardua 90/10 blend of merlot and cabernet franc is fashioned after those great regions. The fruit comes off his mid-Okanagan Valley Naramata estate at Lake Breeze, a terrific spot to excel in warm days and cool evenings. 2015 was an inordinately warm year, and at 15 percent alcohol, Ardua is all in on the nose and palate with rich, black plum, brambly fruit, and dense sweet tannins. The finish is a spicy, smoky, lightly toasted affair. It has the balance and elegance to age well through 2025.Tasted: 17 August 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
