Flechas de los Andes Gran Malbec 2012

Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaFlechas de los Andes is a partnership between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault, after a long search for terroir in Mendoza. Flechas de los Andes, or Andes arrows, refers to the 5 arrows of the logo, symbolic of the Rothschild family (symbolizing the five brothers at the origin of this dynasty of entrepreneurs). This comes from Vista Flores, in Uco Valley, and the granite, sand and gravel that spills down from the Andes. After whole cluster pressing and native ferment, this was fermented new French oak, before a one year rest in said vessels (1/3 new). Rich and polished, with long grained tannins very well integrated into the layers of cassis, thorny blackberry, subtle smoke, sultry violets, finely rasped peppercorns. The intensity of the fruit is now tempered with age, thankfully; this and the next few years is when you want to be drinking a wine like this.Tasted: 03 August 2020Tasted by: Prices:
