Flechas de los Andes Gran Malbec 2012

Vista Flores, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaFlechas de los Andes is a partnership between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault, as the result of their research for exceptional terroir in Mendoza. Their research took them to Vista Flores, but the winemaking is Bordeaux, beginning with cold maceration and fermentation in stainless steel, ageing in barrels, 30% new and 30% second fill, and the rest in large wooden vats for 18 months. It's exciting to taste an eight year old version whose mix is 60/20/20 malbec, syrah, cabernet franc. The attack is dense with luxurious floral blue/black fruit. There is enough texture to keep your interest as you taste through the layers and depths of this wine. The oak is present but balanced with savoury, smoky tobacco and desert scrub. Impressive for the price, and this will age effortlessly. Steak anyone?Tasted: 19 June 2020Tasted by: Prices:
