Corcelettes Meritage 2017

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2017 mix of 38 merlot, 32 cabernet franc, 26 cabernet sauvignon, 3 malbec, and 1 petit verdot is all estate grown on stony, sandy, loamy, stemwinder Similkameen soils. The subtle rise in cabernet sauvignon content and drop in merlot has stiffened the mid-palate and finish, with slightly more drying structural tannin. And at just under 15 percent alcohol, it’s looking like it needs time to gather itself. The palate is awash in fresh stony red fruit that runs through the finish. If you need to drink it now it is best served with grilled beef or wild boar.Tasted: 11 August 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
