Citation Chardonnay 2015
Oregon, United StatesThere is a Citation style, and it revolves around pleasant drinkability without forsaking quality winemaking. If I may, there is little less terroir talk, and little more, 'we think you will like what we are doing because it's different.' The chardonnay is New World meets America. Less oak and alcohol, more fruit and freshness. Fresh ripe apples with citrus offset the tropical fruit, vanilla, and baking spices. Easy to sip and fun to drink, it's on point and will attract both sides of the chardonnay debate. In this warm year and the earliest harvest ever in Oregon, Citation mixed high-elevation old-vine Chardonnay with young Dijon clones. It was barrel fermented and aged in French oak barrels (15% new) for 12 months. Ready to drink.Tasted: 21 August 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | estimated retail in select private wine shops |
