Lingua Franca The Plow Pinot Noir 2017
Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesFrom a high elevation block on their estate Eola-Amity Hills Vineyard, this is clone 777, sourced from a spectacular Russian River Valley vineyard. It's here grown on Willamette's Gelderman-Jory soils. After 50% whole cluster and native ferment in stainless and concrete, this moved into French barriques (25% new) for one year, followed by 5 months in tank prior to bottling. Wild raspberry, morello cherry, fleshy plum, dried thyme fills the voluptuous palate, one kept fresh and vibrant by fine tuned acidity. Tannins are plush and welcoming, carrying this to a lingering finish. Very satisfying now, and will continue to cellar for years to come. One of Oregon's top producers, and getting better year over year.Tasted: 13 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $125.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
