Lingua Franca Estate Chardonnay 2017
Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesLingua Franca Estate Chardonnay is sourced exclusively their estate Eola-Amity vineyard, and its stony, boney volcanic soils, over red basalt. Half of our original Chardonnay vineyard acreage is planted from CH548 cuttings taken from the fabled Montrachet vineyard in Bourgogne (Dominique Lafon is part owner), and the rest is planted with clone 76. After a native ferment, this rested 11 months in a mix of new 600L French puncheons, and neutral barriques. Waves of reduction filter through herbal lees, framing lemon curd, smoked stone, crystalline lemon, and ample salty minerality that lingers on the finish.
