French Door Viognier 2019
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA modest 2 tonnes / acre yield is a part of this two vineyard viognier that hails from the home Black Sage Bench vineyard, and a site in Summerland. Hand harvested, whole cluster, basket pressed, and cold settled overnight, it is racked to 70 percent French oak and 30 percent stainless steel for a high solids fermentation. It remains on its full lees without any addition of sulphites until being stabilized and bottled. Expect a subtle peachy nose with a creamy, peppery palate and a mostly dry leesy finish. It was a cool year, and the acidity is just what’s needed to keep the extravagance of this variety in check.Tasted: 18 July 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | winery online/direct |
