Agrelo District, Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaFrom the single Remolinos Vineyard at 1000+ metres in Mendoza's Agrelo district comes this cabernet sauvignon. Remolinos refers to the swirling winds that sweep through the vineyard, keeping the vines fresh in the Argentine heat. This gravelly cab was macerated and fermented in stainless over one month before being basket pressed into French barrels (30% new) for 14 months rest. Layered with cassis, black cherry, and deep gravels, this is wrapped with very well-integrated tannins that stretch the length of this long wine to a spiced finish. The altitude has afforded some freshness, and a careful hand has provided elegance.
