Domaine Gueguen Chablis Premier Cru Vaucoupin 2018

Chablis, Burgundy, FranceCeline Gueguen comes from Chablis' iconic Brocard family, where she and husband Frederic worked closely with her father for 13 years, prior to starting their own family domaine in 2013. Based in Pretty, the couple works 23 ha of vineyards in Chablis and Grand Auxerrois. This 1er cru comes from Vaucoupin's kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils, and vines of 40 years. Vaucoupin is a very steep, south-facing slope in the commune of Chichée, on the south side of Fleys. This was done entirely in stainless to preserve the fresh purity of fruit. Layers of tight, fine lemon is interwoven with herbal lees, and strung taut by a vibrant minerality that hums this along to the finish. Fantastic structure and intensity, in a very pristine and focused package. Drinking beautifully now, and for the next years in your cellar, without question.Tasted: 16 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
