Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA Micro Lot Series first: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. The nose is aromatic with strong savoury black fruit flecked with tobacco, licorice, and green pepper. At 14.7 percent alcohol, the aromas and flavours are accentuated, and at this point, battling the oak that was home to the cab for 36 months (40% new, 40% second use, and 20% third use French barrels). It’s a shade on the green side but will have its admirers. In any event, this needs five years in the bottle to settle in and show its worth fully.
