Alois Lageder Pinot Grigio Dolomiti 2018
Trentino- Alto-Adige, ItalyYou can't think of Alto Adige pinot grigio as 'typical italian pinot grigio'. And certainly not from stellar Alois Lageder. This wine comes from 25 growers in the southern part of the appellation, from 230 to 420m, and planted on rocky, sandy, limestone-laced soils, the latter giving this Dolomiti its name. After a stainless ferment (partial with stems and skins), this spent 4 months on lees. Very little fruit here to be found, outside of some light melon, pear skin. More prominent is the stony, white honey, light lees that bases this medium bodied white.Tasted: 02 July 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $25.99 | 750ml | private wine stores |
