South Eastern Australia, AustraliaA 70/30 blend of shiraz and petite sirah (also known as durif, a cross between syrah and peloursin), this offers smoky oak and confected black fruits in an accessible, New World style. It doesn’t quite have the body or concentration to carry the 14.5% abv, which is noticeably hot, but it’s otherwise in balance with soft tannins and reasonable freshness.
