Marc Deschamps Les Porcheronnes Pouilly Fumé 2019

Pouilly-Fume, Upper Loire, Loire, FranceI love pouring Pouilly-Fumé for folks that say they don't like sauvignon blanc. This sauvy comes from numerous clay and limestone hilltops in Les Loges, specifically La Cote and Les Griottes, both averaging 20 years in vine age. Bright and upright, with burnished lemon, smoked stone, medicinal-hued Rainier cherry, and guava. Waves of herbal green hedgerow and white grapefruit acidity stream this structural, juicy wine forward to a very long, spiced stone finish. Back to a more classic 13.5 degrees this year, this youthful wine is showing impressively now, but will continue to do so with cellaring.Tasted: 29 June 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: ON 28.95 consignment Producer: Marc DeschampsDistributors: Le Sommelier Inc.
