Loveblock Pinot Noir 2014
Central Otago, South Island, New ZealandThis is a very serious wine, from the hallowed pinot noir soils of Central Otago. The estate Loveblock vineyard, in a warmer section on Bendigo Loop Road, is planted to clones B777, B667, B115, Clone 5 (Pommard) and Abel, on molyneux soils (sandy loam over schistous gravels). Partial whole berry and native fermented, this was aged in a mix of stainless and oak for 8 months. Savoury and gravelly, with wild cherry, raspberry, and alluring fine perfume running a long, textured palate.
