Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis muscat ottonel is hand-harvested off the sandy/loam topsoil and sandy/silty subsoils of the gravel bar, middle bench, that runs through the Bartier Winery, below Black Sage Road. A brief six-month sleep follows a whole cluster press and a cold, 17° C ferment in stainless steel. At 10.5 percent alcohol, this is a fantastic patio sipper to while away the afternoon, and at $17.99, it's highly affordable. I love the floral, desert scrub aromatics, and the slight pétillant palate to heighten the freshness. Don't overthink this wine.
